Jomo Merrit
Biography
Jomo Merritt received a BA Anthropology and a Master's degree in School Counseling. Her screenplay “August Sweeney: Monster Barber of Harlem” is a gripping suspense/thriller piece that that has garnered recognition in several film festivals. Monster Barber of Harlem is about a cautionary urban tale read by a grandfather to his trouble-bound grandson which may not be a fairy tale at all. I have written six other feature length screenplays: “The Dance of Season and: The Dance of Isaiah,” Angels out of Bath”, “Journal of a Dinka Boy,”Wicked Season and The Westside Wizard Tale and American Gospel. Jomo has also written short length screenplays; “When Vengeance Comes Knocking,”, “ The Miracle of Isabella Herrera”, and “Strange Days in Washington Park”. In addition, Jomo has written a novel titled Joshua and Julius, a coming-of-age novel. Joshua and Julius which is Cain and abel story set in pre-Nazi Germany.
